35+ Years of Building Gear That Lasts
Camesco started in 1989 and has been turning out quality metalwork in Coffs Harbour ever since.
01 · Our Story
35+ Years of Building Gear That Lasts
It started as a one-man show: a bandsaw, a folder, a couple of welders. Aluminium fabrication, repair work, whatever came through the door. Radiator repairs one week, ladders and picking platforms for the local banana farms the next.
Then the work got bigger. Custom toolboxes, racks and bullbars became workshop staples, right as the local 4WD scene started getting serious about proper gear.
Word got around: if it came out of Camesco, it was built right. That reputation stuck.
Today it's trays, canopies and 4WD gear. Designed for how utes actually get used now, built to the same standard as 1989.
The work may change. The standards won't.
HEAR FROM ONE OUR FIRST CLIENTS
"Bought my first Camesco tray in 2022. Now I've upgraded my ute and I've wouldn't have anything else but a Camesco tray on the new ute. Top quality work, highly recommend"
RHYS HARDAKER · PEST CONTROL · COFFS HARBOUR02 · Why We Do This
Built for one ute at a time
We spent years watching customers turn up with mass-produced setups that leaked, cracked, or just didn't suit how they worked.
Mass-produced gear is built for everyone. Which usually means it's perfect for no one.
So every Camesco build starts with a conversation: what you carry, how you load it, where you work. Then we design around your ute, your workflow and your conditions. Coastal, rural, hard Australian use. We design for all of it.
Because a build like this is an investment. You should end up with a setup where everything sits where your hand expects it, and still does ten years of salt air later. Not gear that falls apart in 18 months.
03 · What Makes Us Different
Five things you won't get everywhere
01
If we built it, it's covered for life
Backed by a lifetime warranty on all workmanship completed by us here at Camesco. Externally sourced parts are covered under their own manufacturers warranty, and we'll tell you straight which is which.
02
No shortcuts on materials
Being coastal, we know exactly what sun, salt air and humidity do to cheap gear. That's why everything we build uses marine-grade aluminium and 316 stainless hardware wherever possible. Always.
03
We know what lasts and what fails
35+ years of fabrication will do that. We've seen every shortcut, every dodgy build, and every so-called "heavy-duty" material that doesn't live up to the claim.
04
Local. Family-run.
When you call, you speak to a member of our small team, not a call centre. When we say we'll do something, we do it.
05
Designed and built in Coffs Harbour
Everything comes out of our own workshop here in NSW, using Australian suppliers and local components wherever we can get them.
04 · Meet the Team
The people building your gear

Lead Designer & Fabricator
Ryan
Ryan's the one who'll talk you through your build, design your setup, and make sure it suits how you actually work, not just what looks good in photos.
He's obsessive about the details: materials, layout, how you'll use the setup day in, day out. If something doesn't make sense for your workflow, he'll tell you straight.
He's also built more custom ute setups than most. If you've seen a Camesco build on the road, Ryan's fingerprints are on it.
Lead Builder & Workshop Manager
Matt
Matt's been at Camesco for over seven years, and most of the trays and canopies we build today have his thinking in them.
Once the design and layout are locked in, Matt leads the team that brings your build to life. He's also your main point of contact from consultation through to handover. Technical questions, on-the-fly changes: he's across it all.
If something needs to change mid-build, you'll hear it from him before it happens, not after.
05 · Our Values
How we work, in four lines
01
Quality Over Everything
02
Built Around You (Not a Catalogue)
After decades of custom fabrication, there isn't much we haven't built. The first consultation is where the build gets decided, so it's never rushed.
03
Honest Advice (Even If It Costs Us a Sale)
We'd rather lose a sale than sell you something that isn't right. Plenty of fabricators will build whatever you ask for, even when there's a better answer. We're not those blokes.
04
Respect for Your Time
06 · Ready to talk
Ready to talk about your build?
Call the workshop on (02) 6651 2493, or drop in and bring the ute. We'll design around it, not around a catalogue.
No deposit to chat. No pressure to buy. Just a straight conversation about what you actually need.
