The cheapest way into a proper canopy
If your ute still has its factory tub and you like it that way, a tub canopy is the sensible option. It sits on the tub rails, locks, seals against dust and water, and leaves the vehicle easy to return to standard.
You give up some of the flexibility of a tray build — no gullwing access from a deck, less room to grow into a full fitout — but you keep the cost down and the ute stays close to factory for resale.
We build them from marine-grade aluminium with 316 stainless hardware wherever possible, same as everything else that leaves the workshop, with a lifetime warranty on all workmanship completed by us. Canopies start from $9,999.

Tub canopy questions
What is a tub canopy?
A canopy built to sit on the rails of your factory ute tub, rather than on a flat tray deck. You keep the tub and gain lockable, weatherproof storage.
Do I need to remove my tub?
No. That is the point of a tub canopy. If you do want the tub off and a tray under it, that is a tray and canopy package instead.
Is a tub canopy cheaper than a tray and canopy?
Generally yes, because you are not paying for a tray. Canopies start from $9,999. A full tray and canopy package costs more but gives you far more usable space and fitout room.
Can I put a rooftop tent on a tub canopy?
Yes, if we know before we build. Tent and rack loads change how we brace the roof, so tell us at quote stage and it is designed in from the start.
Will it fit when I change utes?
Sometimes, if the next ute has a similar tub. Generally yes, it can be transferred, but there can be some limitations, since we never really know what manufacturers are going to bring out in the future. It is far less transferable than a tray-mounted canopy, which is worth weighing up if you swap vehicles often.
